Founded in 2010 by Patricia and Keba, Jali Kunda Drumming and Dance is a community-based cultural organization dedicated to sharing the vibrant traditions of West African music and movement. For over a decade, Jali Kunda has served as a cornerstone of cultural enrichment in the Milwaukee area, providing accessible, engaging and educational programming for people of all ages. As Jali Kunda has grown, we've expanded our team to include additional master artists in West African drumming and dance - Mamadou and Abdou - who bring deep knowledge, passion and energy to our programming. Together, our team offers dynamic performances and classes at schools, libraries, afterschool programs, summer camps and community venues throughout the region. Jali Kunda's mission is rooted in community connection and cultural celebration. Through rhythm, dance and storytelling, we create spaces where people can come together, learn and experience the rich traditions of West Africa.
